Social Studies & Science
Licenses for Social Studies and Science are available as well. I have no experience with these as we have not purchased it as a school. It is something that I am currently advocating for.

Benefits of IXL Allows students to work on specific skills they struggle with. Explains in detail the correct answer if they are incorrect. Shows teachers real time analytics of who is working and on what skill. Tracks their progress and shows their improvement. Allows teachers to differentiate instruction and tailor to each child’s individual needs. View individual and class awards/certificates for student/classroom gratification.

SAMR MODEL I use this program multiple times per week in the classroom during class time and Tier time. It allows me to determine individual strengths and needs. It also allows me to monitor their progress, provide support, and even shows me the specific standard that they are struggling with. The technology also adapts with students as they grow. I feel that this technology could be considered a substitute or an augmentation. I think that some of the specific skills are redesigned to suit students needs. Students can all work on different skills at one time! The overall goal is for the students to complete all the same tasks/skills. It also makes differentiation easier for everyone involved.

Side Note The only downside I’ve found with this program is the fact that it does cost money. Our school pays thousands of dollars per year for over 800 licenses for our students.
