4. Why are we moving to this site?
The original masterplan for the regeneration of
Craigmillar identified this site to :
give the High School a more prominent location in Craigmillar
try and make it a more popular choice for catchment pupils
be a significant contributor to the regeneration of the town centre

5. What are we doing in the background?
The Council are working with Hub South East Scotland to prepare a case for the building of a replacement Castlebrae High School.
This case will be presented to the Scottish Government with a view to bid for funds.
Other authorities in Scotland will also be bidding for funds so we need to present as strong a case as possible.

6. How are we doing this?
Space Strategies have been tasked with consulting and working with staff, pupils and other stakeholders to develop a strategic design / space brief. They will pass their findings to the Architect.
JM Architects have been appointed to design the building using the information from Space Strategies. The public will be able to comment on the design during the process.
