How does a writer’s use of language create a distinct voice? How do we use textual evidence of voice to support inferences about a speaker?

3 Tuesday 9/4/2018 Review counterclaim: Before you get back to outlining, we will discuss how to write your last evidence statement, the counterclaim. Essay Outlining: Continue working on your outline on Edmodo. At this point, you should be focused on adding evidence and interpretation sentences.

Wednesday 9/5/2018 NO Warm Up UNIT 1 TEST: 1) Place all cell phones in the collector or in your bookbag/backpack. All bookbags must be placed in the front of the room. 2) Write your name, date, and block on the BLUE side of the scantron you were given. Independent reading: Once you have finished your test, take out your independent reading book and read quietly and independently. No phones yet! HW: USA TEST PREP DUE FRIDAY BY 8:00AM. Thursday 9/6/2018 Introductions and Conclusions: Before you get back to outlining, we will discuss how to write your introduction and conclusion paragraphs. Essay Outlining: Continue working on your outline on Edmodo. At this point, you should be focused on adding the details for your introduction and conclusion. Essay Writing: Once you have completed your outline, you may move on to typing your essay. Using the template provided for you on Edmodo, you can copy and paste your work from your outline to create a full essay. HW: USA TEST PREP DUE FRIDAY BY 8:00AM. NO EXCEPTIONS!
