Customize the Ribbon World Wide Web (WWW) Also known as the Web Very large subset of the Internet Consists of computers that store a special type of document known as a webpage Webpage Any document that displays on the World Wide Web Often includes links to other webpages The Internet is a network of networks that connects computers anywhere in the world. 6 Customize the Ribbon Collapse a group or tab Customize Ribbon option
Expand a group or tab You can customize the Word Ribbon. By creating a custom tab, you have access to features in one place. This figure shows the Customize Ribbon option displaying the current arrangement of the Ribbon in the right pane. To expand the view to display the groups within a tab, click the plus icon (+). Code specifies how to format the contents Webpages are developed using HyperText Markup Language (HTML), which is a universal formatting instructional language for web browsers. It consists of a set of codes (or tags) that are assigned to the content of a document. The codes describe how the document is to display when viewed in a Web browser. Link to an existing file or a webpage This text displays on the webpage as a hyperlink Link to a bookmark in the document Link to a new document One benefit of a webpage is that it contains references, called hyperlinks, to other webpages. Hyperlinks are electronic markers that, when clicked, do one of several actions: move the insertion point to a different location within the same document, open another document, or display a different webpage in a web browser. Upload blog The chronological publication of personal thoughts and web links is called a blog. The term blog is derived from the phrase web log, which refers to publishing personal information on the Web. An exciting feature of Word is the Blog post template. Create a Blog Post To create a blog in Word: Create and set up a blog account. The blog registration wizard prompts you for the service provider and your blog account information. Create a blog post. Publish the blog post. After completing your first blog post by using the Word blog template, the blog registration wizard prompts you for the service provider and your blog account information. Using the blog post template, you can create a blog on any topic or subject of interest. Some blogs include pictures.
