What time is it?

3. Step 1: La hora
If the time is 1 o clock, you will say “Es la una” (It is one)
If the time is 2,3,4,5……etc. o’clock, you will say “Son las dos, tres, cuatro, cinco……etc.” (It is two, three, four, five….)

4. Step 2: los minutos
After you establish the hour, add a “Y” for “and” with the minutes directly after.
Example: 2: Son las dos Y trece It is 2 and 13.

5. Step 3: What time of day?
Add de la mañana if it’s morning
De la tarde if it’s afternoon
De la noche if it’s night
De la madrugada if it’s after midnight but before dawn
