2. It is important to understand that Egyptian art was creative but artists operated under certain rules that had to be obeyed.
In chapter 21 many of these rules are discussed. (in a picture, important people must always be large for example.)

3. Activity: Egyptian Art Textbook
Create an Egyptian art textbook. This book explains important rules that must be followed if your are going to create a piece of art.
Come up with 5 rules
Make a book (5 pages and a cover.) Each page deals with one rule.
Explain the rule AND draw an example of it (or get one from the internet)

4. 1. Frontalism: Any picture that is drawn must show the head in profile but the rest of the body as if you were seeing from the front.

5. 2. The Golden Ratio – (phi) drawings must conform to the sacred ratio of (the ratio that occurs naturally in all things)
