BOSTON: Information Sharing Objectives in Comprehensive Plan
Expanded IS within public safety and human services and across these two sectors was an essential component. Desire to create institutionalized IS sharing systems not reliant on personal relationships, develop the time and space needed for quality IS, and expand the use of technology and social media to gather and communicate information to stakeholders.

2. Pre-Plan Challenges Assets
Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC)—crime and homeland security fusion center for Metro Boston, housed within the Boston Police Department. The hub for information sharing for law enforcement/public safety agencies.
Existing IS systems within many agencies
Significant flow of information between law enforcement agencies via the BRIC, and pushing out of information to social service providers by the BRIC
Strong relationships and collaborations between agencies and at the street level
