Figure 1 Effect of immunoglobulin G removal on plasma-induced platelet aggregation and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) release. Platelet aggregation caused by patient's plasma depleted of immunoglobulins with protein A treatment (a), by untreated patient plasma (b), and corresponding ATP release (c and d). Aggregation was monitored optically using a Chrono-Log aggregometer as described in Materials and Methods. Figure 2 Immunoblot of verotoxin-2 probed with patient plasma. Purified verotoxin-2 was separated on 15% reducing sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, transferred to polyvinylidene fluoride membrane, and reacted with patient plasma (1–11), normal plasma (NHP), anti-CD36 antibody Mo91, and anti-verotoxin-2 (VT2) polyclonal antibody (anti-VT2) as the positive control. A molecular weight marker was run, as shown on the right. Std, standard. Kidney International , S15-S16DOI: ( /ki ) Copyright © 2009 International Society of Nephrology Terms and Conditions
