3. The Task
You will compare and contrast modern exploration with the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The team will be divided into four positions. Each group will have:
Team Leader (who to take and why)
Map Maker (mapping the new island and any new discoveries)
Transportation Expert (how will they travel? Foot, boat, bike, car, etc.)
Chief Cook (food and supplies)

4. The Process
Each member of the team should choose a role from the following list:

5. The Team Leader
Besides the people who are assisting you (ex. Map maker, chief cook, and transportation expert) you must select who else to take on your expedition.
You must research who Lewis and Clark brought along and why they brought them.
You must compare the similarities and differences in who you brought with those of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
Create a three slide minimum power point presentation of your comparisons

6. The Map Maker
You must study the route that Lewis and Clark took on their exploration of the west. As well as what new life forms they discovered.
You must draw the new island that your team is exploring and draw and list any new animals or life forms that you discover.
You must compare your drawings and routes with the drawings and routes of the Lewis and Clark expedition.
Create a three slide minimum power point presentation of your comparisons and discoveries.

7. The Transportation Expert
You must study the transportation the Lewis and Clark expedition used on their exploration of the west.
You must decide what type of transportation your team will need and use as you explore this newly discovered island.
You must compare what you plan on using in your exploration to the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
Create a three slide minimum power point presentation of your comparisons and plans.

8. The Chief Cook
You must study the supplies that the Lewis and Clark expedition took on their exploration.
You must decide what supplies you will need on your exploration. You will need to work with the Transportation Expert so you will know how much room you have for the supplies.
You must compare the supplies you are taking with those that the Lewis and Clark expedition took.
Create a three slide minimum power point presentation of your comparisons and plans.
