Floor Marshals Calm, decisive actions contribute to the successful outcome of any incident.

Floor Marshal Objectives
Assist in the safe and orderly evacuation of buildings during drills and emergencies. Assist with maintaining control of emergency situations until first responders arrive. Facilitate communications between building occupants and emergency responders.

Floor Marshal Objectives
Under NO circumstances is a Floor Marshal to put ANYONE in DANGER! Safety is the HIGHEST priority!

The Ideal Floor Marshal Candidate
Has good communication skills Has an interest in Fire & Life Safety Is able to work under some pressure Is willing to commit to: Evacuation drills Fire extinguisher training Ongoing refresher training

Responsibilities Facilitate building evacuation
Provide leadership and guidance Be enrolled in the CMU Alert system Participate in other communication methods Willing to commit to about 4 hours per year Evacuation drills Periodic training & meetings

Rise of Amazon/Neighborhood mail theft BUT, since parcel delivery is expensive… No delivery of personal parcels for F & S Consider renting a campus PO Box Convenient and secure UC location Economical ($60 per year/$35 per semester

Project Description SR 2108-A12/A13 & SR 2308-A02 – Forbes Avenue Betterment/Corridor Improvements Birmingham Bridge to Margaret Morrison Street Resurfacing (mill/overlay) of the corridor Concrete pavement patching Grade Adjustments of existing Inlets, Manholes and Utility Valve Boxes. Eleven (11) New Traffic Signals with full pedestrian and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant upgrades Six (6) Traffic Signal Upgrades at existing traffic signals Bicycle Improvements between Bigelow Blvd. and Margaret Morrison Street Converting existing four lanes to two lanes w/ center turn lane and bike lanes in each direction from Craig St. to Margaret Morrison St.

Physical Improvements Upgraded ADA curb ramps High visibility crosswalks (piano keys) New Stop Bars New Pedestrian countdown heads Audible signals/push buttons Operational Improvements Leading/advance pedestrian walk phase at all intersections except Forbes Ave/Morewood Ave and Forbes Ave/S. Craig St, which will remain an all-walk phase New signalized pedestrian crossing between Bouquet St and Bigelow Blvd/Schenley Dr

Bicycle Improvements New bike lanes between Bigelow Blvd/Schenley Dr and Margaret Morrison St Completes connectivity to existing bike facilities Two-stage left turns (Curb Cuts at T intersections) Minimum 5’ width bike lanes with a 2’-4’ painted buffer where space permits New bicycle safe inlet grates New and updated signing and signals for bike infrastructure
