3 Key activities of 2017/18 Training Course on Prepackaged Goods
Nanning, China (April 2018) AQS Reference Test Spreadsheet OIML endorsed Prepackaged goods survey Sent out by APLMF Secretariat Training course delivered by NZ & Swiss trainers to 70 legal metrology practitioners covering the application of R79 & R87. There was a range of experience in the group, which hopefully benefitted the lesser experienced members of the group when completing the practical exercises in smaller groups. The course feedback was positive with many good conversations had during the 4 days and afterwards via with some of the economies who required further guidance on the application of R87 specifically. During the course we used a NZ TS produced spreadsheet to complete a mock reference test. This was well received by all, especially BIML President Stephen Patoray, who showed a great appetite for this type of document to be made available to all LMO. Also, a survey has been sent out to all economies to ascertain alignment with the recent updates to R76 & R87. Other work in NZ: Poultry and Beer guidance. 25th APLMF Christchurch, New Zealand 7-9 November 2018

6 Future focus – Recommendations
General Engagement from members Quantity Mark Recognised and accepted by all economies Legislative amendments Include updates to OIML Recommendations Members are urged to engage more to promote the work of the group. A recognised and accepted quantity mark is proposed, as per OIML G21, which would be a great opportunity for member economies to collaborate to seek agreement on a system that would work best. All economies are asked to consider/explore legislative amendments to accommodate the recent updates to R79 & R87. TS NZ anticipate that amendments will be made to our regulations during the next review. 25th APLMF Christchurch, New Zealand 7-9 November 2018

7 Future focus – emerging issues
Assessment & Calculation Tool for AQS Advanced version of AQS Reference Test Spreadsheet As per the key activities previously discussed, a complete AQS tool (which accommodates both R79 and R87) is envisaged. The current reference test spreadsheet provides the group with a head start, but requires fine tuning to be a complete document for an inspector, i.e. when examining packaging, equipment, processes/procedures and paperwork/documentation at a packer/importer. Additional – develop an online module to support this tool 25th APLMF Christchurch, New Zealand 7-9 November 2018
