Lesson 3: Create an Invitation
Objectives: Learn how to adjust the document layout Insert artwork and images
3
Tip #1 Adjust Page Size Google Docs uses Letter as the default paper size. Your invitations will look better on a smaller paper size. Ask students why you might want or need to use different paper sizes.
4
Tip #2 Change Page Orientation
Use landscape as the page orientation for invitations. Portrait works great for letters and other documents, but landscape lets you put more text across the page. Before revealing, ask students if they can name the two different types of page orientation.
5
Tip #3 Use Narrow Margins
Narrow margins allow you to have more room on the paper.
6
Tip #4 Use Artwork Insert artwork such as banners to add more emphasis to the invitation text.

Text Flow Options with Objects
In Line Option – means the object is treated like a piece of text and is positioned within the line of text. Wrap Text Option – means the text flows around the object. This is usually the best option when inserting objects into a document. Break Text Option – means the object in treated as a separate line. The text appears above and below the object.
