This Chart is the path that also allows the 3 Directors to Push their Departmental expertise and actions up to the CAO and Council and ultimately the Citizens.
The Executive Assistant (EA) is a vital resource in this chain to support the bi-directional movement of the 5 functions above.
There will be times when Council Members will need to access information and support from the departments and the EA can provide information and guidance as well.
Please be assured the structure is there to support Council and the Citizens.

4. CAO’S Responsibilities
Per S.207 MGA :
Is the administrative head of the municipality.
Ensures that the policies and programs are implemented.
Advises and informs council on the operation and affairs of the municipality.
Performs the duties and functions and exercises the powers assigned to a CAO by this and other enactments or assigned by council.
The Municipal Government Act (MGA) is principle document that sets out the Legislative Authority for the County. ( A good Reference document).
The are 18 Parts to the Act and The Administration of the County is in Part 6 .

5. Chief Administrative Officer Duties
The CAO’s Office acts as a conduit between administration and Council and the community, and other stakeholders.
The CAO is accountable to Council for providing leadership, direction and the effective administration, management and control of the Corporation and its three operating divisions:
Community Services
Corporate Services
and Municipal Services

We are awaiting the Proclamation of the Modernized Municipal Government Act (MMGA) from the fall sitting of the Provincial Legislature.
