2 Introduction Collingwood et al. (2000) proposed that physical exercise can raise self esteem. Ecklund and Bianco (2000) and Fox (1997) – low self esteem, reason for low activity but findings focused on older children Is this possible for one child, within one primary school?

6 Physical activity interventions and learning new skills
Physical activity interventions take many forms Lifelong fitness, awareness of how to lead active lifestyle (Pica, 2008). Developing and celebrating new skills = empowering and positive impact (Jacques and Hyland, 2004).

Friday afternoons 30 mins (during assembly) 20 weeks, 5 months (Jan – June, not including school holidays) Total 600 mins Assessment – measurable = describing body movements and objective (Howells, 2015)
