Report back CTAA expo – june, 2009
A piece of information that I’ll talk about in a few minutes… FTA would like to develop a national model based on our training program! Jim and I have begun putting together a series of papers to document the training program. Doug Birnie, FTA liaison, tells me I am referred to (nationally) as the “mother of mobility management” That makes Jim the godfather!

WAMM! After 2010, it is highly likely that the training program will cease to exist in its current form due to diminishing need. Have no fear - WAMM is here! It is highly likely that after 2010, the training program will most likely cease in its current form due to diminishing need. To provide a venue by which additional training and peer networking can continue with support and a potential source of funding for workshops/conferences, how about a Wisconsin Association of Mobility Managers??!! Initial inquiries and feedback indicate it’s highly likely it will be an Association under WRAPP. We’ll know more after the WURTA conference later this month where several board members and I will be discussing the details of how to set it up. Look for more information in October…

Wamm logo We’ll insert “Association of” right here…

Notoriety Mobility management in Wisconsin has become notorious!
The nation wants to know what we are doing! Requests for information come in faster than we can handle them! News of our success is spreading throughout the country. Everyone wants to know what we’re doing to get to where we are. Each week I get at least two or three inquiries about aspects of our program and the projects we have in place. (Jim keeps writing my phone number on bathroom walls across the country!)
13
Hmmm… how can we handle all this?
Hmmmm – Jim, Roland – what if we…

National conference on mobility management
Proposed national conference in the fall of Jim and Roland are seeking sponsors for funding and someone to coordinate the event. Hosted in Wisconsin (Madison). Breakout sessions by YOU! Pull together a national mobility management conference!! We are shooting for the fall of Jim and Roland are seeking funding support and sponsorship as well as an organization to assume principle responsibility for the planning as this will be a bigger job than any of us can tackle. We have offered to host it here in Wisconsin, most likely in Madison. And, in order to address all of the inquiries that we’re getting, we will want to offer breakout sessions with panels comprised of YOU in which you will lead and present on your successes!

Oh, and one more thing…

Community transportation
Smile pretty! Be ready to talk about your project and relate your successes – and challenges! Community Transportation magazine is going to do a feature article on mobility management in Wisconsin! A CTAA representative will meet with WisDOT staff the day prior to the Oct. workshop to gather background information and learn what the state has done to achieve effective transportation coordination through mobility management. He will then attend the workshop on Tues. afternoon and evening to listen to and learn about your projects’ successes, and to interview a few of you on your particular programs.

Wow!! Wamm!! Congratulations to each and every one of you!
YOUR EFFORTS, DEDICATION, HARD WORK AND PHENOMENAL RESULTS ARE WHAT MOTIVATES ME TO WORK AT PROVIDING YOU WITH AS MUCH SUPPORT, RECOGNITION AND REWARD AS IS POSSIBLE! You deserve all of this because you’ve earned it!
