2. Copy a real music video?
The concept that I will have to film a music video is a little daunting, especially as I do not really know where to begin. Looking at past years blogs, one thing that stands out is where students have taken a music video and recreated it shot by shot, an exact copy of it. I feel this would be a good way of starting off the project as it will teach me and my partner some of the easy and tricky parts of filming one, and will allow us to begin to look at concepts of music videos from different genres.

3. What song will you recreate?
Looking at the genre of music, we feel a pop song would work well as this is likely the genre our final video will use. Therefore, knowing the concepts of this genre from a producing point of view will give an advantage when if comes to actually filming the video.
We are totally unsure what type of video our song will be, i.e. narrative, concept or performance, so we do not have any preference with this. However, a performance video will probably be harder to make as we will have to sing in time with the shots or dance in time with the music. By tackling these possible problems now instead of leaving them to the final video would be useful so a performance video would be best.

4. We decided… ‘Wuthering Heights’ by Kate Bush
This is because the video is fairly simple and quite old so our equipment and editing wont look out of place (compared to Breezeblocks by Alt-j for example as that has a lot of HD slow motion). It is also because we just think it would be fun to recreate, and we will learn more if were having fun.
