2 What is different about citing multiple sources in an essay?
Since you will include quotes from different sources, the person who reads your essay needs to know which book, article, essay, or web source the quote was taken from Every citation must have an author, title, or website included in the citation which correlates with a source found on your works cited page If not, you are committing plagiarism!

3 A quote from a book: A quote taken directly from a book must include the author(s) of the book in the citation and the page number the quote was found. Example: “Ernest Hemingway was greatly influenced by his friends in Paris and it shows in his book The Sun Also Rises” (Reynolds 43).

4 In-text citation from a book matches source in Works cited:
“Ernest Hemingway was greatly influenced by his friends in Paris and it shows in his book The Sun Also Rises” (Reynolds 43).

5 A quote from a periodical:
A quote taken directly from a periodical (such as an article or essay) must include the author(s) of the article in the citation and the page number the quote was found. Example: “Hemingway constantly paid attention to women’s nails” (Raabe and Jones 160).

6 In-text citation from a periodical matches source in Works cited:
“Hemingway constantly paid attention to women’s nails” (Raabe and Jones 160).

7 A quote from the Web: A quote taken directly from an internet website must include an editor, author, or compiler, the “Article Name” or the Name of the Website along with page numbers (if available). It all depends on how your web source appears on your works cited page

8 In-text citation from the Web matches source in Works cited:
“Hemingway was strongly influenced by WWI (Felluga 2).

9 In-text citation from the Web matches source in Works cited:
“Hemingway was strongly influenced by WWI” (“Guide” 2).

10 In-text citation from the Web matches source in Works cited:
