Objective -I will be able to find a percent of a quantity in a real world context. -I will be able to model real world and mathematical problems of percents and be able to write a percent as a fraction over 100 or as a decimal to the hundredths place. Well, let’s look at what the question is asking us…
If he has 70% of his class get an A, how many students would that be? (He has 100 students in total) Remember that percent means per 100, and if he has 100 students, there is our per 100, so 70% of that 100 students would be… 70! 0.70 or 0.7 The decimal, fraction and percent all show 70 out of 100
