The Impossibility of Good Works to Save

Good works are only relatively good, not absolutely good
Romans 3:9-23 Isaiah 64:6 Ecclesiastes 7:20 Some people are better than others, but there is none good in comparison with God’s standards.

Works don’t have any power to redeem
Hebrews 9:22 Offering good works to God to obtain salvation is like offering Monopoly money to buy groceries. It is the wrong currency.

Salvation by works is incompatible with the concept of salvation by grace
Romans 11:6 Ephesians 2:8-9 Romans 4:4-5 Just like oil and water. Grace and merit cannot exist together.

Good works are not necessary to saved because Christ has already done everything
Christ completely paid for all sin. You do not have to do your part to make this work any more complete. John 19:30

Good works are expected from a Christian but only after being saved
