4. Where to Find and When to Use the Rated Load Chart
The Rated Load Chart is an Operator Aid located near your SPYDERCRANE’s Crane Control Group (CCG)
Use the Chart to figure out your SPYDERCRANE’s Rated Load Capacity
    For all SPYDERCRANEs, the RATED LOAD CHART is located near the CRANE CONTROL GROUP, within the operator's line-of-sight.  For SPYDERCRANE Micro-Crawlers (094-Series, 095-Series, 200-Series), the Rated Load Chart is on the curbside front of the SPYDERCRANE's carrier.  If you have a newer (2018) SPYDERCRANE, there may be two Rated Load Charts, one for the PRIMARY HOOK (either the 2-PART HOOK or 4-PART HOOK) and another for the SECONDARY HOOK (the 1-PART HOOK).

To use the Rated Load Chart, you must know three things:

It’s Boom Stage
And it’s Working Radius

The information in the Rated Load Chart applies ONLY to the SPYDERCRANE it is posted on
The Rated Load Chart is used with the SPYDERCRANE’s main boom (not the jib) and the Primary Hook
The Rated Load Chart has an information section and rated load tables section
    The information contained on the Rated Load Chart is only applicable to the SPYDERCRANE it is posted on.  The Rated Load Chart is divided into two major elements: the LOAD TABLES ELEMENT and the USE AND WARNINGS ELEMENT.
The Use and Warnings Elements contains the direction for using the Rated Load Chart and some warnings against improper deployment and lifting. 
The Load Tables Element is the part of the chart that you will use to figure out your SPYDERCRANE's Rated Load Capacity.

7. The Load Tables Element​
The Rated Load Tables are organized by Boom Stage
Boom Stages 1 and 2 are combined into a single table
Except for the 94-Series Rated Load Charts
    The Rated Load Chart is broken down into individual LOAD TABLES.  These tables apply to a specific Boom Stage (for most SPYDERCRANE models, Boom Stage 1 and 2 share a table). 
The remaining Boom Stages have their own tables

8. Breaking Down the Rated Load Table
Each table has three rows:
Working Radius Row
    Each Load Table contains three rows of information:
The WORKING RADIUS ROW
The top row of the table lists the available working radius values for that specific Load Table.

MAX-EXT Rated Load Row
The MAX-EXT RATED LOADS ROW
The middle row of the table lists the different Rated Load Capacities, if you deployed your SPYDERCRANE using the Maximum-Extended Deployment State (MAX-EXT).

10. Breaking Down the Rated Load Table
Each table has three rows:
Working Radius Row
MAX-EXT Rated Load Row
NOT-MAX-EXT Rated Load Row
THE NOT-MAX-EXT RATED LOADS ROW
You would use the bottom row if you deployed your SPYDERCRANE using the Not-Maximum-Extended Deployment State (NOT-MAX-EXT). 

11. Breaking Down the Rated Load Table
Each table has three rows:
Working Radius Row
MAX-EXT Rated Load Row
NOT-MAX-EXT Rated Load Row
Each Rated Load Table has three rows.
The top row is the Working Radius Row and it corresponds to the Working Radius you get from the Boom Angle Indicator.
The second row is the Rated Load Row for a SPYDERCRANE using the MAX-EXT Deployment State
The bottom row is the Rated Load Row for a SPYDERCRANE using the NOT-MAX Deployment State

12. Using the Rated Load Chart
    Once you have figured out your SPYDERCRANE's Working Radius; Boom Stage; and Deployment State, you can use the Rated Load Chart to figure out your SPYDERCRANE's Rated Load Capacity: 
Select the Load Table.
Select the Working Radius. 
Select the Deployment State.
Find the Rated Load. 

13. Rated Loads Versus Net-Rated Loads
RATED LOAD refers to the safe lifting capacity of the SPYDERCRANE, INCLUDING the weight of the HOOK and WIRE ROPE

Rated Load is often referred to as Gross Load or Gross Weight
You MUST figure out the NET-RATED LOAD
By DEDUCTING the weight of the SPYDERCRANE’s hook and wire rope
SPYDERCRANE Hooks have standard deductions
The MOST IMPORTANT thing for to you understand when using the Rated Load Chart is that the Rated Load INCLUDES the weight of the hook and the wire rope.  On any crane, to know how heavy of a load you can safely lift, you MUST use calculate the NET-RATED LOAD.
    For ALL SPYDERCRANES, we use a standard weight deduction, based on the EQUIPPED HOOK:
If you are using the 1-PART HOOK
 Deduct 25 lbs.
If you are using the 2-PART HOOK
Deduct 35 lbs. 
If you are using the 4-PART HOOK
Deduct 70 lbs. 
70 lbs. for the 4-Part Hook (URW205, URW295) (primary hook)
35 lbs. for the 2-Part Hook (URW094, URW095) (primary hook)
25 lbs. for the 1-Part Hook (all Micro-Crawlers) (secondary hook)
