Watch the following video. Take note of the differences you see between Tim and Al. You can write this at the bottom of your journal entry. Tim & Al: Home Improvement

Foil Character A foil character is one who has opposite characteristics of the protagonist in order to accentuate (emphasize) key characteristics. Al is a foil character to Tim in Home Improvement. Try to list five other foil characters (can be from literature, movies, or TV shows).

Make two columns You List 10 characteristics about yourself (physical or personality) Example: Goofy Your Foil List the opposite of each characteristic from the first column. Opposite: Serious

Create a “Foil” Character
Using the list of characteristics from the previous slide, draw your own representation of your foil character. Be creative
