3 History & Background College District serves a large geographic region (size of Delaware) 50% first generation – 70% BOG fee waivers 19,500 students and roughly 15,000 FTES Dual Enrollment program features 22 High Schools across 7 districts Sample course offerings for Fall 2017: Health Science – Health Careers Political Science – American Government English 1A – Reading & Composition Intro to Psychology Introduction to Art Sign Language

Tensions emerge…upper management vs. HS Counselors What technology is provided? Scenario 3 Who pays for textbooks? Scenario 4 Closed for the Fall Holiday Directions – Within small groups of 3 to 4 participants review the scenario prompt and spend 5 minutes discussing possible strategies to address the problem … we will discuss alternative strategies as a group

6 FAQ’s Who collects forms (college early start, add forms)?
What about keys and access to classrooms? When does invoice get sent and payment made for facilities use? Are there collective bargaining changes needed for workload or compensation? When will courses be offered at the HS’s (days and times)? What about holiday periods or breaks in the HS schedule? How many units can students take? How do matriculation services get delivered (assessment, orientation, education planning)? How will the students receive support services like advising or tutoring?
