Define freedom. What are the extremes of freedom?
Define order. What are the extremes of order?
What is a continuum?
Why was the American Revolution fought? How did this influence the Articles of Confederation?
In our governmentt today, where does the power rest? How is this guaranteed?

2. FREEDOM
1. Freedom may be defined as: The ability to do what you want, when you want, where you want, and with whomever you want to do it with, or to.
2. Sounds cool doesn’t it?

3. Order
Order may be defined as rules, regulations, restraints, and the people who create and who enforce them.
Examples- Parents, Teachers, Principals, Police, Laws, TMS Planners…

4. Extremes (These are some scary thoughts!!!)
What then, is the extreme of Freedom?
A. ANARCHY!!!
B. No laws, no restraint, no consequences. Social Darwinism, State of Chaos
Extreme Order
A. Totalitarianism
B. A form of government in which every aspect of citizens’ lives are controlled by the government.

5. Where does this leave us?
There has to be a balance. We have to have both!
What keeps one from becoming more power than the other?
How did not enough order cause the Articles of Confederation to fail?
