2 Welcome to Open House Find your child’s desk.
There is a white half sheet from Mrs. Frey that you need to fill out and return to me tonight. Place it on my table.  Read the letter from your kiddo – if there isn’t one on your table, check the “no names” clipped to the door. Use the blank card to write a note to your child to open in the morning.

3 Meet the Teacher Ms. Kenney
I received my undergraduate degree from Kennesaw State University This is my 3rd year teaching, all 4th grade at Mt. Bethel! Currently working on gifted endorsement w/several other teachers (thanks to the Foundation! )

4 Our Daily Schedule 7:15 – 8:00 Morning Work 8:05 – 9:05 Math
9:05 – 9: Science&S.S. 9:40 – 10: Specials 10:30 – 11:05 Snack/Finish Science/S.S. 11:10– 12: Reading 12: : Recess/Lunch (12:20 – 12:50) 1:00 – 2: Writing/ELA 2: Pack up and Dismissal

5 Behavior Management, Agendas, Thursday Folders, Homework
*Clip chart Good behavior all week & returned assignments = REWARD *Agendas Homework – students are responsible for copying this down daily. No need to sign.  *Thursday folders: behavior sheets (sign weekly), graded papers, flyers *Homework: 20 min reading (400 min. a month), math, study for tests/quizzes

6 Grading Scale 100 – 90 = A 89 – 80 = B 79 – 74 = C 73 – 70 = D
Below 69 = F I allow paper corrections through January IF THE GRADE IS BELOW 73 . *STUDENT RESPONSBILITY *Half credit

7 Fourth Grade Math Participating in Math Compacting – grouping based on pretest data. Will switch math teachers beginning Monday, August 15th. Lower class sizes in math because of scheduling. Looking forward to it!

9 Odds and Ends *Birthday treats are welcome but MUST be store bought.

12 Georgia Milestones Detailed score reports are in envelopes from Spring 2016 administration. They contain great information about how your child performed.

13 From the Nurse… Please re-confirm any allergies, medical problems, etc. Please stop by the clinic to update your child’s clinic card, if necessary. Please remember that ALL medications need to be checked in at the clinic by a parent.

14 From the Attendance Clerk…
Absent & Not Taken to the Doctor – Please send a note from the parent stating the dates and illness. Absent & Taken to the Doctor – Please send in a doctor’s note. Tardy – Please send in doctor’s note, dentist’s note, or dated note from parent.
