1. Serving others or serving self?
Our theme of “Serving God by Serving One Another” needs to be extended beyond the bounds of physical service to include ministering to one another’s spiritual needs.

2. Christians are Called to Be Servants
The greatest among us will be a servant (Matthew 23:11; 18:3-4)
As Jesus was (John 13:3-17)

3. The attitude of a Servant…
Is a mindset we adopt (1 Cor. 9:31)
Is without consideration of repayment (Luke 6:34-35; 17:7-10)
Is unselfish and considerate (Philippians 2:3)
Puts others first (Romans 12:10-11; Ephesians 5:21)

4. Becoming a servant Galatians 5:13; 1 John 4:20-21
To brethren in need (1 John 3:17; Timothy 5:10; Mark 14:8)
To brethren who are spiritually sick (Galatians 6:1; James 5:19-20)
To those who need the gospel (1 Corinthians 9:19; Jude 22-23; Philippians 1:15-18)

5. When the Lord returns, He wants to find his servants SERVING!
“Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning... Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.” -- Luke 12:35-38
