Systematic Management of Safety
The SAA of Ukraine Viewpoint The whole crux of a systematic approach to safety management is to ensure that we manage the risks effectively and efficiently. This means that our overriding strategy is to mitigate against the risks or eliminate them wherever possible. This guidance is intended to provide a direction for a working partnership between regulation and management so that the benefits of a systematic approach can be realised through cooperation and agreement. Step 1: Competency/Responsibilities Matrix
Step 1: Competency/Responsibilities Matrix ICAO Annexes/ SAA Divisions Annex 6 Operations of aircraft Annex 11 ATS Annex 14 Aerodromes SAA Chairman Safety inspection - Air Navigation Services Aerodromes Certification The matrix reveals that there are26 topics covered between these source documents. No one source document covers all of the 26 topics and generally speaking each source documents can mean something different by the topic heading. This means that in the course of this workshop we will need to consider how to align the meaning of each topic heading to our best advantage in the UK and in the circumstances of each provider of services. It is probable that some topics have not received adequate consideration and require further development. It is equally possible that some topics are surplus to need and are candidates for removal.
