INTERNAL STUDENT SURVEY Huge improvements in: Teaching Marking/schemes/feedback Staff engagement/communication with students skills Recommend University as place to study – from 61% to 80% Best results for “Skills” in University Teaching: Eg: Staff good at explaining things – from 66% to 80% Marking criteria from 66 – 80 Assessment arrangements good – Contact staff – 63% to 83% (second in Uni) & changes in course or teaching are communicated well. Getting academic advice & support from 64-83 Timetabling and examination timetables also sig increase

NATIONAL STUDENT SURVEY Overall satisfaction increased from 67% to…. Overall satisfaction = 85% - joint first with SHAW. 100% of IBM student satisfaction 91% for Accounting and Finance

NATIONL STUDENT SURVEY Area Uni Average Teaching on my course 63%-77% 81% Assessment and feedback 52%-68% 70% Academic support 55%-68% 74% Org & mgt 60%-79% 73% Learning resources 79%-85% 85% Personal development 72%-82% Overall 67%-85% 80% We have no courses in the bottom 10 within the University in any of these many category. There still are some areas for improvement: ISS shows personal tutoring has improved from 41-49% but Uni average is 65% And we still have issues with students feeling that they can learn together with peers on line and there are useful electronic assessment tasks & feedback to check how well they are doing Also variations between subject areas
