1 Astrology 101 Lecture 4 – The Planets
Elder High Priestess Tehilah Firewind

2 Solar House vs. Sun sign Also called the “solar month”
Uses the conventional and well-known dates May differ from the sun sign If the solar house and sun sign differ, then people all is not as it seems with that person People will think they are like their solar house, when in fact they are more like their sun sign Misperceptions and misunderstandings about people Especially obvious depending on planetary placement, and which sign is rising (next week)

3 Sun Associations: Keywords: 365 day return Element: Fire and spirit
Body Parts: Heart and spine Sign: Leo Day: Sunday Color: Gold, orange, yellow, sometimes red Keywords: The individual, will and power, conscious integrating self, outward expression, who you want to be 365 day return Luminary planet How the world sees you, how you choose to act, the individual, the creative self

4 Moon Associations: Keywords: 28 day return Element: Water and spirit
Body Parts: Stomach and breast Sign: Cancer Day: Monday Color: Silver, blue, and sometimes purple Keywords: Inner waters, thoughts, emotions, memories, subconscious self, life journey, how you feel 28 day return Some say this aligns with the unconscious, but we need to qualify this statement. The unconscious can be both individual (which is what the moon governs), or collective (which is governed by Pluto). However, many would argue there is no difference between the individual unconscious and the subconscious, and that anything which exists unconsciously is in the collective sphere. There is no consensus on what the precise difference between the unconscious and the subconscious is, so subconscious is used here for simplicity, but remember that the moon governs us on a very deep level. The planet that governs an individual aspect of our worldly existence (in this case the moon governing our individual deeper selves) necessarily cannot describe the way we interact with the part of us that is not in any way individual from the rest of existence (which is what Pluto embodies).

5 Mercury Associations: Keywords: 88 day return
Element: Air, but also water Body Parts: Nerves and lungs Sign: Gemini and Virgo Day: Wednesday Color: Violet, sometimes yellow Keywords: Communication, expression, mentality, nerves, outreach, interaction of any form 88 day return Mercury excites people, it affects the nerves, so retrogrades can be anxiety, issues with public speaking, etc. Mercury R encourages people to slow down and think things through before trying to communicate

6 Venus Associations: Keywords: 225 day return
Element: Earth, but also air (sometimes water) Body Parts: Larynx and throat Sign: Taurus and Libra Day: Friday Color: Green, but sometimes also pink or yellow Keywords: Collaboration, balance, refinement, intent to create, expectations, relationships 225 day return Strength through balance and refinement, knowing when to speak and when not to, diplomacy

7 Earth Associations: Keywords: Return??? Element: Water and earth
Body Parts: Metaphysical self, overall health Sign: none Day: none Color: Brown and blue Keywords: Grounding, connecting to ancestral energy, past lives, fusion of animal and divine souls, self manifestation Return??? Triangle formed from the sign after the sun sign, the opposition to the sun sign, and the sun sign itself.

8 Mars Associations: Keywords: 2 year return Element: Fire
Body Parts: Physical structure and skeleton Sign: Aries (and historically Scorpio) Day: Tuesday Color: Red Keywords: Personality, ego, willful intent, self-assertion, progress 2 year return Triune: gathering enough energy, desire, and will (Mars) to actively contract and expand (Jupiter) as we move through the gates of time (Saturn) Mars is a call to action, the drive to get to where you need to be by any means necessary and in an impactful way

9 Jupiter Associations: Keywords: 12 year return
Element: Mostly fire, also air Body Parts: Cell growth and arterial health Sign: Sagittarius (and historically Pisces) Day: Thursday Color: Purple and sometimes red Keywords: Urge towards exploration, growth of any kind 12 year return Monetary gain, increase, abundance, wealth, and new opportunities Contraction as well as expansion, in the sense that what goes up must come down, and what goes out must come in Expand and learn a lot of different things, but eventually, must stop to take a breath. Jupiter placement can indicate pre-disposition for bipolar disorder

10 Saturn Associations: Keywords: 28-30 year return
Element: Mostly earth, also water Body Parts: Bone, teeth, skin Sign: Capricorn (and historically also Aquarius) Day: Saturday Color: Blue and black, sometimes green Keywords: Structure, order, time 28-30 year return The illusion of time, wasting time, missing people from a past time, etc. Chaos and order, unstructured structure, reorganization on retrograde “Hoarder’s nightmare”

11 Uranus Associations: Keywords: 84 year (or 7 year) return
Element: Air, but also fire and water Body Parts: Nervous system and mental health Sign: Aquarius Day: none Color: Blue and green Keywords: Catalyzing collective consciousness, personality, sense of individuality when coming together, social media 84 year (or 7 year) return A force which affects you on a deep level Energy that is collectively collected, and how that influences us all in an individual way Prominent placement can make people “wired” or too energized, combatted only by slowing down and thinking thing through, similar to the Mercury R.

12 Neptune Associations: Keywords: 165 year (14 year) return
Element: Water Body Parts: Emotional health Sign: Pisces Day: none Color: Light or dark blue Keywords: Awareness of the collective consciousness, sense of oneness, clarity through insight, relation to the world 165 year (14 year) return Knowing the landscape only by how it feels, and how you feel in it Like a fetus in the womb, there is nothing but water and yet he can move intuitively and interact with the world in an intuitive, almost metaphysical way. Density and viscosity to the water you are moving through, like primordial soup

13 Pluto Associations: Keywords: No return Element: Spirit, also water
Body Parts: Spirit/soul Sign: Scorpio Day: none Color: Black Keywords: Manifestation of spiritual self, call to bring to light subconscious and past thoughts, collective unconscious No return Transcendent, imminent, omnipresent Waystation between lives, wormhole into the imagined world beyond our single reality

14 Other Planets Pluto is a dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt
There are many others (hundreds likely) Use only the more massive planets Remember: as humans evolve, these higher, higher resonance planets are able to affect us Nothing is known about their influence Need characterization Requires many, many charts be considered Interviews instead of readings Are any dwarf planets contenders? Eris is actually larger than Pluto! Ceres: the mass of the earth -> is considered an asteroid in astrology, see pg 139 of the book Eris: Pluto: Sedna:
