1 Chapter 15-3: Muscular System
-the organ system whose primary function is movement and flexibility. -to help you move, it is attached to bones. -make up of all the body’s involuntary and voluntary muscles

2 Lever: -a simple machine that consists of a bar that pivots at a fixed point called a fulcrum.

3 Extensor: -muscle that straightens part of your body. Flexor: -muscle that bends part of your body.

4 Mechanical advantage:
A number (#) that tells you how many times (x) a machine multiplies (Xs) force.

5 Cardiac muscle: -muscle that is found only in your heart. Smooth muscle: -muscle that can be found in the wall of blood vessels and in the digestive tract.

6 Tendinitis: -tendon b/ms inflamed. Strain: -an injury in which a muscle is overstretched or torn

7 **During resistance exercise people work against weight (wt).
Aerobic Exercise: -moderately intense activity that improves endurance.

8 Cardiovascular System:
-includes the blood vessels, blood, and heart. Urinary System: -takes waste out of the blood.

9 Ligaments: stretchy tissue that connects bones.
Differentiated cells: Ex) muscle cells, neurons, red blood cells, and epithelial cells, etc.

10 Digestive System: -stomach, -small intestine, -colon
