Idiom: dark horse
Explanation: A dark horse is usually someone who is a candidate or competitor about whom little is known but who unexpectedly wins or succeeds.
Pun: Two blood cells met and fell in love, but alas it was all in vein.
Explanation: It is a twist on vein and vain. Normally, something would be all in vain, meaning that it did not matter. It all takes place inside the vein instead.
Word in another language: caveat empor
Explanation: let the buyer beware in Latin

8. How to find the central idea
What is being said about the person, thing, or idea (the topic)?
Usually, the main idea will be stated somewhere in the first paragraph of an article or the last paragraph of an article.
Also look at the title to see if it provides you with any hints.
Look for repeated words, phrases, ideas, or information.
Author's use evidence to support their central idea.
Think of a central idea like a thesis statement.

9. What to look for when looking for the central idea?
