3. Objectives for Today
Today, we will begin work on our introductory paragraphs (hook & position statement). However, before we do, I’m modifying the assignment to make it a little easier to begin. Instead of the topic you selected last week, choose one of the following to write about:
Should students be allowed to use cell phones while in school?
Should there be a school uniform in place instead of regular dress?

Writing your Introductory Paragraph
Writing the hook statement.
What will you use?
Writing your position statement.
Be clear and concise. Can I read just the position statement and still know what I’m reading about?

5. Homework TKAM chapters 22-25 questions due Wednesday
Write your introductory paragraph (on the new topic). All you need for now is the hook and position statement. We will worry about filler material later.
