Drugs that improve blood-pressure (BP) control, lipid control, and inhibit the renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system (RAAS) can offer cardiorenal protection in patients with CKD. However, many caveats exist to using these drugs in CKD, including increased risk of hyperkalaemia.
