Yellow highlighted area represents day and the gray area designates night. Lines with blunt arrows show inhibition and lines with pointed arrows indicate activation. Solid circles next to TOC1, LUX, and LHY stand for feedback inhibition. The middle green shaded region shows signaling and physiological pathways directly controlled by circadian clock genes or the rhythmic output of the circadian clock. At the outer perimeter shaded in blue are traits influenced by clock-regulated pathways.
