Fall-Plan for Your Year
Talk to Mrs. Akeo in the CCC building Use to research colleges What are the courses you’ll need to take? What are the test & scores needed? Do they offer your major? Start a calendar with important dates & deadlines PSAT, SAT, ACT College Fairs/Presentations March 1st is usually the application deadline for most colleges/universities Get involved with extracurricular activities Go to college fairs

Winter-Learn about Colleges
Learn about college costs and how financial aid works Go to Collegeboard.com to calculate how much money you will need for college See how much you need to start saving now Talk to your family about college financing If given the opportunity, visit colleges while they are in session Even if it’s not the one you’re interested in Talk to family or friends who are coming home from college for winter break Go to college fairs

Winter-Prepare for Test
Look online to take practice PSAT/SAT tests PSAT or Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test Ask if you qualify to take the test for free Usually taken 10th grade year Practice for the SAT test which is usually used by colleges/universities Scholastic Assessment Test-SAT ACT-American College Testing-the other test
