4. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Promoting gender equality and equity in organizational development
Leading the process of adapting departmental operational culture to usage of gender mainstreaming approach

5. Progress Report Policy Development
Gender Policy Guidelines for the Public Health Sector finalized and launched in November 2002.
Advocacy & Awareness raising on policy: policy presented in 6 provinces (i.e., Limpopo, N. Cape, Free State, KZN, N.West and Mpumalanga) to senior management. Entry into Gauteng, Limpopo, W. Cape and E. Cape difficult.

6. Progress…. Gender analysis and mainstreaming training
National: Four clusters and one directorate trained
Limpopo Province: +/- 36 Middle Managers trained
All nine provinces: 15 senior and middle managers trained on Gender and Health aspects.
