2) One of the two whom Jules had in mind for
his community; ordained: December 17, 1853
3) Known in the seminary for his piety and ability
4) Zealous, extremely sensitive, highly imaginative
5) Sometimes would get overly excited, inconsistent
with his evaluations, and was easily influenced by
the current waves of opinion
6) Gifted speaker/preacher—captivated audiences;
spoke to the heart.
C) Fr. Chevalier Reveals his plan (November, 1854

2) “Since it is Mary who gave to the world Jesus as the blessed fruit of her womb, it is she proclaimed immaculate, who should give the Church, if such is the will of God, this new family of the heart son. She will cause it to be born so to speak, from the divine heart, source of all grace and fecundity. If we are heard , we will take the title of Missionaries of the Sacred Heart.”

High Mass.
