2. History of the O2
Originally the O2 was called the Millennium Dome and it was built to celebrate the Millennium in the Year 2000
It housed a lot of exhibitions, the original being the Millennium experience, and attractions
It cost a lot of money to build and it was referred to as a ‘white elephant’ as it did not attract the visitor numbers it was thought it would

Now the O2 is home to lots of shops and restaurants
It is also a venue for concerts and gigs with bands and other acts performing
You can get on an Emirates Cable Car from the O2 over the River Thames to the other side, this is really fun and I enjoyed this when I went on the cable cars with my Dad and little brother
You can also do the UP experience and climb the outside dome of the O2 to the very top!

5. O2 Facts The O2 was opened in 2007 and is 10 years old this year
The O2 is located in North Greenwich, London besides the River Thames
The O2 has the second highest seating capacity in the UK
The O2 is the busiest music venue in the world selling 1,064,912 tickets in alone
In 2010, the O2 won the award of London's Live Music Venue of the Year at the London Lifestyle Awards
