1 Protech’s Short and Long Term Roadmap
Frank Bruffey III, CTO April 4-5, The Four Seasons Baltimore

2 Agenda Vision Current State This Quarter UX and MX .Next AMA

3 Vision

4 Some Background Satya Nadella consolidates his vision for Microsoft
“empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more” Azure and Serverless Computing are how things are getting done. Intelligent Cloud is now a reality at Microsoft Power BI, Power Apps, Flow, Talent, Business Central, Office 365, Cortana, etc. Dynamics 365 is at the center of this. This is where your data is.

5 Protech’s Mission Our BHAG states: “Every member of every association using Protech’s software.” Deliver a great User Experience (UX) and Deliver a great Member Experience (MX) Commitment to a Predictable Technology Roadmap and Strategy No customer left behind.

6 What’s this REALLY MEAN
Is Protech’s strategy to deliver to on-premise customers? Or run their own Azure Infrastructure and deliver cloud that way? Or is it to deliver our products on the Microsoft Managed Dynamics 365 Cloud? YES! Our product development roadmap is to ensure your opportunities to move forward on the Microsoft Technology platforms in a way that fits your business needs. We are following Microsoft’s technology lead, as we always have.

7 AS OF TODAY

8 UX 8.1 Released in Q2 2017 for new and existing customers.
Latest Release UX 8.1.3 UX 8.1 Released in Q for new and existing customers. Basis for supporting latest version of Dynamics as well as MX 8.1.x We are well on our way thru upgrades of customers with UX 5 to UX 8 Our first version to start to leverage Dynamics 2016. Built on Protech’s Azure Infrastructure and optimized for cloud. Started code, process and functionality consolidation for UX and MX releases.

9 Latest Mx MX / MX Last version to support UX 5 (CRM 2011). With the sunset of UX 5, we are no longer adding new functionality to MX We may do additional maintenance versions for MX ,26… if critical patches are needed for clients that have not yet upgraded to UX 8. Over 100 Enhancements provided in MX 5.6.x

10 ComING Q2 2018

11 UX 8.2 Significant new functionality taking advantage of Dynamics features. Under the hood optimization Performance Additional tighter integration with MX UX Forms, Dashboards, Setup Shortcuts to improve module implementation efficiency and training.

12 Some UX 8.2 Features Member Engagement Manager
Gift Certificates by Module WYSIWYG Controls GDPR Assistance for the Data Controller Improvements in almost every module

13 MX 8.2 Promotional Packages and Sponsorships
Sell registrations for a fixed number of people instead of an open ended group, as with a table for 8 or a table for 10, or a golf foursome. Sell registrations to multiple meetings as a single series, as with courses or a seminar series. Set a custom price for each package, by automatically assigning a promo code that the client doesn’t need to know, or by setting a discounted price for registering the group as a whole. Default a placeholder contact to each of the registrations so the user can either assign specific named contacts right away, or come back later to change names at any time. Package a membership with the registrations, so registrations are sold as an automatic benefit of membership.

14 MX 8.2 Responsive Design The new user interface fully utilizes Bootstrap, the foundation of responsive web styling, for flexible, mobile-friendly form layouts. The MX web parts have been re-coded to display with an attractive, consistent, and clean appearance that fits better into your website pages. The new user interface is fully compatible with multiple .NET CMS’s, and is not limited to MX Ready2Go, so if you have MX integrated into your own CMS, you do not need to leave your current MX site in order to upgrade to the new responsive version. It is easier to style these web parts to suit your needs. You can apply your own style overrides for a branded and harmonious look and feel, without losing MX styling enhancements that are deployed with new product releases.

15 NOTE: MX and UX 8.1.4 Patch releases to bridge version dependencies and/or provide for quick implementation of new functionality that will not require any testing of customizations. MX has important features and functionality around performance and GDPR. UX will allow you to implement MX 8.2 without needing an UX 8.2 upgrade as well.
