2 romanticism Romantic Movement was in part a revolt against classicism and the Enlightenment Classicism: set of artistic rules and standards that went hand in glove with the Enlightenment’s belief in rationality, order, and restraint Romantics reacted to the Enlightenment’s emphasis on reason and science, instead stressing the following: Emotions, Intuition, Nature, Nationalism, Religion, and the unique individual
