CERNER LAB UPGRADE WITH HEO/WIZ DOWNTIME Saturday, September 28th, 1000 am – 1200 noon Total 2-Hour Housewide Downtime for HEO/Wiz & VOOM planned The Laboratory will be operational & test results will be sent to StarPanel during the downtime This downtime is necessary to upgrade the current GE/GGG product to Cerner Actions Required: Pre-Downtime (day of downtime): Round early & order labs to be sent prior to 1000 (if appropriate) Minimize or avoid ordering serial labs before 1000 I can wait until after 1200 Reorder Restraints and Pain meds Order TPN (much easier in HEO than on paper!) During Downtime: Downtime Orders written on STAMPED (label or blue card) downtime physician order sheet (see example posted on each unit) Lab will have a central number to receive questions during downtime 5-LABS After Downtime: All repeating and future lab orders in HEO/Wiz will be discontinued & re-entered by support staff to allow HEO and VOOM to communicate the order to Cerner lab system (No action required by provider) Lab orders will be re-entered as written orders to avoid the need for multiple co-signatures, BUT some orders may inadvertently get entered prompting a co-signature – please co-sign New Reference Ranges will be available in StarPanel labs section on day of go-live A redline will display in StarPanel to indicate where the reference range changed to alert providers when looking at trends Pediatric reference ranges changes will be more extensive Resources: 3-HELP – to get SSS VUMC Lab to see new reference ranges:
