Sir Walter Raleigh Raleigh is named for the capital of North Carolina.
He was an English aristocrat, writer, poet, soldier, courtier, spy and explorer. Known for popularizing tobacco in England. He was a a main contributor to the book “El Dorado” which was about his quest to find the “City of Gold” Born in 1552; Died in 1618

Thomas Nashe Born Lowesotft, Suffolk in 1567.
Big writer of poetry, most notably “Peirce Pennilesse, his Supplication to the Devil” A lot of his works stirred up controversy. He was sent to prison after he wrote “The Isle of Dogs” Nashe died in 1601

The King James Bible An English translation of the Christian Holy Bible begun in 1604 and completed in 1611 by the Church of England. The title of the first edition of the translation was "THE HOLY BIBLE” Authorized version was meant to replace the Bishop’s bible By the first half of the 18th century, the Authorized Version was effectively unchallenged as the English translation used in Anglican and Protestant churches
