Conjunctions join clauses
because when although if Mrs Cole sang. The children made a mess. She gave me a drink. She gave me a drink. The children made a mess. Mrs Cole sang. She cooked dinner. I was thirsty. Mrs Cole said nothing. when because although Mrs Cole said nothing. I was thirsty. She cooked dinner. IDEAS This sentence is made from two clauses, stuck together by the conjunction. These sentences all make sense. Each sentence is one clause. Can you join two of these clauses with a conjunction?

If the added clause is put in front, the conjunction still goes at the beginning of the added clause.
