1. Subject/Verb Agreement
Rule Box
1.) A singular subject must use a singular verb or form: is was has, does, or verbs ending with - s or –es
Ex. The boy (drive, drives) to the mall.
2.) A plural subject must use a plural verb form: are, were, do, have, or verbs WITHOUT –s or –es
Ex. The boy and his friends (drive, drives) to the mall.
3.) The subject YOU is considered PLURAL. Always use a plural verb form
Ex. You should (drive, drives) to the mall.
