1 Subject/Verb Agreement
Rule Box 1.) A singular subject must use a singular verb or form: is was has, does, or verbs ending with - s or –es Ex. The boy (drive, drives) to the mall. 2.) A plural subject must use a plural verb form: are, were, do, have, or verbs WITHOUT –s or –es Ex. The boy and his friends (drive, drives) to the mall. 3.) The subject YOU is considered PLURAL. Always use a plural verb form Ex. You should (drive, drives) to the mall. Rule Box

2 Let’s Practice 1.) Those parrots (is, are) talking to each other! 2.) You (was, were) the favorite act in our show! 3.) Cody (trade, trades) baseball cards often. 4.) My mountain bike (race, races) better than anyone else’s! 5.) Two sacks of money (was, were) found in the parking lot.
