2 BREAK THROUGH The demonstrators broke through the barriers to continue protesting on the streets. That talented young actor is ready to break through. The first light breaking through the mist gave us an impression of a new beginning and hope!

3 COME DOWN We were walking in the fields when the rain started to come down. He only started coming down one hour after he heard the news about his victory. He was so excited! Lots of people have come down with dengue in Brazil.

4 HOLD OFF Buyers have been holding off until prices fall again.
It’s holding off, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to start raining soon. Look how dark the sky is!

5 CHILL OUT I spent the whole afternoon chilling out in front of the TV.
I had to get my sweater in the car because it suddenly chilled out. And I was wearing only a top.

6 FREEZE UP I froze up when I saw him again after all those years. I couldn’t say a word! It froze up as we spent the night on the mountain, but we were prepared for it.

7 STORM OUT He stormed out of the room after seeing his girlfriend talking to her “ex” so gently. Lots of the inhabitants were caught unprepared as it stormed out for the first time that year. There were floods everywhere.
