Introduction Overview of where we are and where we’re heading:
“A biblical response to {some of} today’s most divisive issues.” Human sexuality, homosexuality, abortion, the environment, politics, and where do we go from here?

“Human Sexuality” part 1 Outline
The Shift The Causes The Impact/Cost Myths and lies (their refutation) Myth 1: God is anti-sex Myth 2: Christians’ sex lives are dull, boring… Myth 3: If people love each other, pre/extra-marital sex is okay with God

“Human Sexuality” Part 1 by Chip Ingram
15
Talk it over #1 What was your family’s or your church’s mindset when it came to sexuality? Through what lens have you looked at sexuality as you grew up? In your lifetime, what do you believe has been the single biggest shift in people’s view of sexuality?
16
I Corinthians 4:13-17 “The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. By His power God raised the Lord from the dead, and He will raise us also. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ Himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.” But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with Him in spirit.”
17
Talk about it #2 Why do you think Paul speaks about the resurrection in the middle of a passage about sexual immorality? What temptations and cultural values were the Corinthian believers facing that required such supernatural power? What does this passage teach us about the “body” and the implications of physical intimacy?
18
For personal reflection
In Ephesians 5:3, Paul says, “among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality…” In your life, what bait does Satan use to lure you toward sexual sin? Decide today to become a champion for sexual purity. Sit down with those who look to you for spiritual leadership and have an honest conversation about God’s standard for purity. What will you say? What resources do you need to do this well?
19
Final thoughts “Inspiration comes from hearing God’s Word; motivation grows by discussing His Word; transformation occurs when you study it for yourself.” Read Ephesian 5:1-16 carefully and slowly. Why are verses 1-2 a great foundation for Paul’s challenge about sexual purity? What’s the difference between love and lust?
