Purpose Addresses the needs of students who have completed all other graduation requirements, but fell short of passing one or two End-of-Course Exams Allows students to use an IGC recommendation to override one or two EOCs Has specific details for eligibility

Requirements Student must be a 12th grader
Must complete additional remediation Must have taken the exam at least two times Must complete an approved project or portfolio that exhibits proficiency in the EOC content area

Is the student at the end of his/her 11th grade year OR Is the student a 12th grader in the school year? Yes No Has the student completed all required coursework? Student cannot graduate. Students do not qualify before 12th grade. No Yes Student retakes EOCs. Has the student passed all 5 EOCs or substitute assessments? Has the student attempted to pass the EOCs at least twice? No No Yes Yes No Does the student need to pass more than 2 EOCs? Student cannot graduate under an IGC. Student may graduate. Yes Student is eligible for An Individual Graduation Committee (IGC). Student cannot graduate and the decision may not be appealed. Did the student complete all the requirements outlined by the IGC, and the IGC unanimously recommends graduation? Yes No

Timeline for 2015 April 2015 May 2015 Late May/Early June 2015
Identified students who could benefit from the passage of SB 149 Pulled data as identified in the SB 149 drafts May 2015 Campuses made aware of passage. Campuses select IGCs. Campuses determine Portfolio/Project requirements EOC results on May 21. Letters and phone calls May 22 Late May/Early June 2015 IGCs convene to determine recommendation determinations for eligible students Graduation

As written Commissioner may make changes that will impact the classes of 2016 and 2017. As written, this law will sunset September 2017.
