In terms of human rights and working relationships are changes a good or bad thing?

Please revisit the hand-out you have been given! Is it powerful? What does it tell you/ What emotions does it evoke? Should everyone have “rights” and, if so, how does sustainable activity within organisations assist this?

So, what can entrepreneurs actually do?
Within their transformation processes, entrepreneurs and managers can ensure all groups of stakeholders enjoy: Dignity Fairness Equality Mutual respect And what about government departments? Should they ensure that: Everyone has freedom to control their own life? There is a democratic decision making process? Everyone can expect equality from public services?

Now, think about: In 2005, the United Nations Human Rights Commission requested the appointment of a special representative to, amongst other things, develop materials and methodologies for undertaking Human Rights impact assessments of activities of TNCs and other enterprises Guiding principles: Organisations have a policy commitment to respect human Rights Organisations should take steps to prevent and examine adverse Human Rights practices – UN Human Rights Council (2011) Q: Should enterprises show respect to Human Rights in their Transformation Process?

Please take note: Are governments doing enough to protect workers?
Organisations such as Nestle have taken steps to tackle child labour in its supply chain. So, many organisations are doing their best to promote Human Rights… but… Are governments doing enough to protect workers? …..Now a Debate!
