Daniel And His Companions
Captured and taken to Babylon (1:1-7) They would not eat from the king’s table, insisted on vegetables, and volunteered to be examined afterwards (1:8-17) They were discovered to be superior in all respects (1:18-21)

Nebuchadnezzar’s dilemma (2:1-13) Daniel requests time (2:14-18) The receive revelation (2:19-23) Daniel is granted an audience with the king (2:24-30) The dream is revealed (2:31-36a) The interpretation follows (2:36b-45) This is all accepted (2:46-49)

The Image And Its Assignments
1st (head of gold) represented Babylon (2:36-38) 2nd (arms and breasts of silver) was Medo-Persia (2:39) 3rd (belly and thighs of brass) was Greece (2:39) 4th (legs of iron; feet of iron and miry clay) was Rome (2:40-43) Another kingdom would be set up by God (2:44)

The Kingdom Which Shall Never Be Destroyed
Jesus ascended to heaven (Heb. 10:12) He serves as our High Priest – FOREVER (Heb. 6:20; et al) He reigns as King – FOREVER (Heb. 1:8) This means church and kingdom will last FOREVER

The kingdom has come It was to come “with power” (Mk. 9:1)
It came “with power” on Pentecost (Acts 1:8; 2:1-4) Paul wrote that some were already in the kingdom (Col. 1:13) John said he was in the kingdom (Rev. 1:9) It is a spiritual kingdom (Jn. 18:36; Lk. 17:20-21)
