1. GETTING TO KNOW YOU
This meeting is primarily organizational. You will have things you need to do – forms, attendance, etc., and I don’t have any particulars for you.
Some suggestions:
An ice breaker game (lots available – just “google” it
Define roles & rules. Obviously we want to have fun, but need some behavior expectations & consequences. I often drew up a “contact” with my Scouts … they said what the rules should be and the consequences. We all signed the “contract”. Then I turned the page over and wrote a “contract” for my roles as leader … But with a whole “pack” that may be a bit much.
Work on BOBCAT. You have the Trail to Bobcat from School Night for Scouting. By working on that together you can reinforce what they learned at SNFS and then catch any new Scouts up to that point. Hopefully, all would have their BOBCAT by end of meeting.
Talk about what they will do in Cub Scouts and invite them to invite their friends!
End with a fun mini-game. Be sure to remind them of what fun is scheduled for the NEXT meeting and to be sure to come.
