3 Introduction The NR was a turning point in history. It was a turning point because before the Neolithic Revolution most societies were hunter-gatherer societies and afterwards they started to make the transition to agricultural, sedentary societies. The domestication of plants and animals as well as job specialization were a result of these changes, people did not have to spend all of their time searching for food so they were able to occupy themselves with other activities and eventually form complex societies known as civilizations.
